Nick Shelley

Nick Shelley

Head Fund Fellow

Before coming to Wharton, Nick was an Associate at Arlington Capital Partners, a middle-market private equity firm focused on investing in regulated industries. Prior to Arlington, Nick worked as an Associate at Accel-KKR, a private equity firm focused on investing in software and technology-enabled service companies. He started his career as an Investment Banking Analyst at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in the Technology M&A Group. Nick graduated cum laude from UCLA with a B.A. in Business-Economics. This summer, Nick will be interning at Calixto Global Investors in equity research in Miami.

Chris Chen

Chris Chen

Director of Research

Prior to Wharton, Chris was a Director in Strategy and Operations at Kadiant, a TPG-backed multi-site autism services company, where he focused on acquiring, integrating, and scaling clinical operations. Previously, Chris was an Associate at Ares Management, where he focused on private equity investments across healthcare services, financial services, and consumer & retail. Prior to that, Chris was an Investment Banking Analyst at Morgan Stanley. Chris holds a B.S in Business Administration from the University of California at Berkeley.

Vivek Shah

Vivek Shah

Director of Research

Vivek is a second-year MBA at Wharton. Prior to B-school, he worked at Baring PE Asia, an Asia-focused buyout fund, covering technology and financial services sectors in India. He started his investing career at Multiples PE, a growth fund, covering technology. Prior to investing, he was an investment banker at Avendus Capital covering TMT. Vivek is a CA and CFA charter holder. For the Summer of 2022, Vivek worked at a L/S hedge fund focused on internet and technology in New York.

Julie Zhu

Julie Zhu

Chief Operating Officer

Prior to Wharton, Julie was a Senior Associate on the Investments team at Diagram Ventures, a Canadian venture builder. Before Diagram, Julie was an Associate at Morgan Stanley Capital Partners, a middle-market private equity firm focused on acquiring businesses in the healthcare, consumer, education, and industrial sectors. She began her career as an Investment Banking Analyst at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in the Global Healthcare Group. Over the summer, Julie spent time as an analyst with Anomaly Capital. Julie graduated cum laude from Harvard College with an A.B. in Economics and a minor in History.

Jasmine Zhang

Jasmine Zhang

Director of Trading & Performance

Prior to Wharton, she worked at Point72 as an equity research analyst in New York and London. She also had sell-side equity research experience covering the energy sector at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. She graduated from University of Chicago with a double major in Economics and Statistics. This summer, Jasmine will be interning at Fuller & Thaler in San Francisco.

Bowen Weng

Bowen Weng

Prior to Wharton, Bowen worked as the Controller at a long/short equity fund focused on TMT and Healthcare, where she is responsible for risk management, financial reporting and fund operation. Before that, she was an auditor at Deloitte serving clients in the financial service sector. Bowen received a BBA with distinction and a Master of Accountancy from University of Wisconsin – Madison. She is a Chartered Financial Analyst and Certified Public Accountant. This summer, Bowen will be interning at Whale Rock Capital Management in Boston, and the TCW Group in Los Angeles.

David Berk

David Berk

Prior to Wharton, David was a Private Equity Senior Associate at Vestar Capital Partners and executed investments in consumer and business & technology services sectors. Prior to Vestar, he was an Associate at CCMP Capital, a middle-market private equity firm focused on acquiring businesses in the consumer, industrial and healthcare sectors. He started his career as an Investment Banking Analyst at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in the Global Industrials Group. David graduated from Vanderbilt University with a B.A. in Economics and minors in Corporate Strategy and Financial Economics. This summer, David will be interning at Baron Capital Group in New York.

Johnny Wang

Johnny Wang

Prior to Wharton, Johnny worked in Strategic Finance at Amazon.com, where he led investments and strategic initiatives. He also has financial and investing experience as an IBD Associate at CIBC Capital Markets, where he covered infrastructure clients, as an investment analyst the IFC Asset Management Company, and started his career in Natural Resources IBD at Morgan Stanley. He graduated with distinction with a Honors BA. in Business Administration from the University of Western Ontario - Ivey Business School. This summer, Johnny will be interning at PIMCO in credit research in London.

Khushali Kothari

Khushali Kothari

Before coming to Wharton, Khushali was part of the India investments team of ADV Partners, an Asia focused private equity firm. Prior to that, Khushali was an investment banking analyst with the healthcare consumer team of Lincoln International, India. She began her career at Ernst & Young, Mumbai where she spent time in the advisory & tax practices. Khushali graduated from the University of Mumbai (Narsee Monjee) with a Bachelors in Commerce and is a Chartered Accountant. This summer, Khusali will be interning at Capital Group in equity research in London.

Matt Paragamian

Matt Paragamian

Before Wharton, Matt was an Investment Analyst at the IFC, the private sector investment arm of the World Bank, on its Global Manufacturing team. Previously, he worked as a generalist equity analyst at Marketfield Asset Management, a mutual fund in New York, and as a Senior Associate at Artemis Real Estate Partners, a real estate private equity firm. He also previously served as a teacher in Rwanda. Matt graduated from Georgetown University with a BA in Economics. This summer, he will be interning at Weiss Multi-Strategy Advisers in New York.

Sreeja Vasantham

Sreeja Vasantham

Before Wharton, Sreeja worked at General Atlantic, where she was part of the technology (software, internet) investing team in India. Before that, she did Investment Banking focused on the Indian markets at Moelis & Citi. Sreeja graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay with Bachelors in Electrical Engineering and minors in Computer Science. Sreeja is interning with Partners Group, US Tech team in Denver this summer.

Anmol Verma

Anmol Verma

Prior to Wharton, Anmol worked as an investment analyst at a boutique long-only emerging markets-focused fund called Arisaig Partners, working across their Mumbai, Singapore and London offices. Anmol also spent a little under 2 years at BCG consulting clients in the consumer and financial services sector and recently worked at a women’s health start-up in India, leading growth and B2B. She graduated from Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University with a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce. This summer, Anmol will be interning at Capital Group in equity research in London.

Fund Fellows
